Video: Here’s Philadelphia Eagles Corner Riley Cooper and WR Cary Williams getting into it at practice and having to be separated by QB Michael Vick and WR DeSean Jackson. Cooper is infamous for his recent racist comments and Williams is known for his hot temper out of Baltimore.
If they’re teammates, it’ll be interesting to see how they fare against opponents.
So I showed him how I was running with it, and he looked at it and he knocked the ball right out of my hands. And he was like, ‘Hold it like this.’ And what he told me felt comfortable. I had a tighter grip on the football. That should secure that problem as long as I work on it.
I can’t wait for Eagles training camp, when Chip Kelly makes Vick carry a football with him at all times, The Program-style, while other Eagles constantly try to knock it out of his hands in the cafeteria, during film sessions, and even in the locker room. Luckily, Vick will be sleeping 12 hours a night, so it won’t be that tough.
Michael Vick’s non-complaining complaint against the referees.
What’s up refs? He told you take more precaution when he’s in the pocket. He told you when you had that little meeting in training camp. I can’t believe you’re going to make him go into a big dissertation about why he’s not getting the calls. It doesn’t matter that he didn’t get any blitz today. Now all we know is that is hand is broken. Things are not fine and dandy.
Well, there were a couple of shockers last week. It’s going to take a few weeks until we have a firm picture on what each team is about but these are the games I am most interested in.
Raiders at Bills (1:00)
The Raiders are traveling to the East Coast for a 1:00 game on a short week after playing the late Monday night game. Not sure how this makes it on the schedule that seems like a huge disadvantage, right? The Bills put up a ton of points last week. Can Fitzpatrick do it again against a Nnamdi-less secondary? The Raiders looked pretty good and Hot Wings got it right, Darren McFadden possesses a crazy combination of power and speed. The dude is special. One of these teams are going to be 2-0.
Bears at Saints (1:00)
Is the Saints defense really as bad as they looked during the Thursday night opener? Was that just a byproduct of Aaron Rodgers being Aaron Rogers or is there more to the story? Are the Bears really as good as they looked last weekend against an Atlanta team that didn’t seem like they were ready to play? Brian Urlacher’s mother unexpectedly died this week. It will be an emotional game for him for sure. I hope he puts up defensive player of year type numbers.
Chargers at Patriots (4:15)
I did not get to see the Chargers game last weekend. But I do know a stout chubby running back found the end zone three times. I did see Tom Brady throw for a bazillion yards and the Patriot defense fail to contain Chad Henne. I feel like this is going to be a game where neither defense can get off the field. Offensive fireworks are likely.
Eagles at Falcons (8:20)
Michael Vick returns to Atlanta for his first start in his old team’s building. I’m not sure what to expect out of this game. What are the Atlanta fans gonna be like? I’m sure there are a lot of people in Atlanta who still love Vick. But I’m sure there are just as many who blame him for the decline the team suffered after all of Vick’s troubles. I wouldn’t be surprised if either team won. The Falcons are tough to beat at home. But the Eagles have the personnel to stop Matt Ryan. Vick could do it all himself or the Eagles defense could give up over 100 rushing yards in a single quarter like they did last week.
What a turnaround Michael Vick has made. It wasn’t that long ago that he was behind bars. Now he’s one of the top QBs in the league and has a man servant to hold his parasol while he speaks to inmates in the hot Florida sun.
