So, the New York Jets decide not to a) take QB Geno Smith, nor b) trade down the draft, so at 13th in the 2013 Draft, the Jets chose Defensive Tackle Sheldon Richardson out of Missouri.
Because having a great defense has worked out so well for Rex Ryan and Mark “El Matador” Sanchez. At least Sanchez liked the idea to skip Geno Smith.

League sources tell FOXSports.com that owner Woody Johnson wants his team back on the HBO hit show and has communicated that to the network. But his outspoken coach is against the project.

Ryan, according to sources, does not want any more of a circus type atmosphere around the Jets after last season’s bickering and collapse and this offseason’s trade for Tim Tebow.

Rex wants no part of ‘Hard Knocks?’- FOX Sports on MSN (via sportsnetny)

Rex Ryan unabridged vocabulary and HBO’s uncensored formatting are a match made in heaven.

If for nothing else, I’d tune in just to see Tim Tebow cringe and try to “clean” his couch up a little. ”Coach, you need to find God!” ”I have, Tim, he resides between my wife’s sexy f***ing toes.”

Tebow might have to dip into an ice bath filled to the brim with holy water after every speech Rex gives.

No need to convince me any further, I’m sold.

Tim Tebow speaks for the first time since being traded from the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets.
On the Denver Broncos & Peyton Manning:
“I understand what they were going through. You don’t get many opportunities to have a chance to sign Peyton Manning. What a great quarterback he is.”
On Rex Ryan:
“I wanted to play for Coach Ryan ever since I saw ‘Hard Knocks. He just seemed like a coach who loves football and is passionate about the game of football. He’s definitely a players’ coach. I just love that about him. I have so much respect for Coach Ryan. He’s a coach you want to play for, a coach you want to go out there and do good for. … There’s not many NFL locker rooms you’re going to go where you have the cleanest language, so I’m not too worried about that.”
On Mark Sanchez:
“Mark called me and left a voicemail. I was searching through all my voicemails and I heard his and I called him back. We talked, got a chance to catch up a little bit. It was a great conversation. We’ve been blessed to get to know each other the last three years. I think we’re both extremely competitive. I think we’ll be able to push each other to get a lot better. I think we’ll have a great working relationship, and we’ve had a great relationship off the field. He’s such a classy guy. I’ll be very honored to call him my teammate.”
On his new situation:
“I feel like this is a great opportunity for me to develop. I think the scheme we’ll be playing in is a great scheme to play under and improve every day. My goal is just to be the best player, the best quarterback, the best teammate I can be and improve every single day and earn everything I get by working hard and find a way to help the team in whatever role that is.”
Overall:
“I’m just thankful to be a Jet.”

Probably not the best time to release this ad, Pepsi.

I believe this is the year we’re going to win. I guarantee we’ll win (Super Bowl) this year… I’m trying to win a championship. I’m always going to say the same thing. I believe we can be champs. Why wouldn’t I believe it? Somebody tell me why I shouldn’t believe that we deserve to be champions.
Rex Ryan, Head Coach of the Jets, in 2011. I don’t mind the bravado, but the way the Miami game unfolded, he needs to be accountable for much of what happened. Saying he didn’t know why Holmes was on sideline is not a good start. The Jets playmaker got yanked for disrupting huddle & then sat on bench, sulking. Ryan can’t be pleased one of his captains quit.

Word on the street is that Jets’ head coach Rex Ryan will get fined between $75,000-$100,000 for telling a Pats fan to “Shut the f@%k up.”

Honestly, after watching the video, we’d say it was worth it.

Happy Monday!!!
