WR DeAndre Hopkins out of Clemson is now a Houston Texan after being selected 27th in the 2013 Draft.
This is what most people have demanded and expected for the Texans. Another receiver to help distract and keep defenses honest for big WR Andre Johnson. If you’re a fantasy football player, watch Johnson do well yet again this year, barring any injuries. Good on Houston.

This is great. Houston Texan Andre Johnson’s receipts for $19K he spent on Xmas gifts for kids in Child Protective Services.

That is the best receipt ever.

Darrelle Revis, still getting it done from the hospital bed.

Congrats to the Texans for clinching their first playoff spot since returning to Houston as an expansion team.
The last time a Houston football team made the playoffs was with Warren Moon and the Oilers in 1993.
Many people, including myself, were skeptical as to why the team brought back head coach Gary Kubiak this year, after years of under-performance. But with a revamped defense under Wade Philips and a level of resiliency few expected after injuries to Matt Schaub, Mario Williams and Andre Johnson; the Texans are deserving participants in the post-season.
No matter what happens in the playoffs, getting there is a huge step for the organization. Its first step in fact towards relevance.

Welcome to week 7 in the NFL. It’s hard to believe that we are almost half way through the season. Sad. This week we have Buffalo, Cincinnati, New England, Giants, Philadelphia and San Francisco on byes. That means this week will be without some real fire power. Even more noticeable is that the schedule is really bottom heavy. The Monday night game stinks, the Sunday night game stinks and all the 4:00 games stink. Oh well, we’ll take whatever football we can get.
Texans at Titans (1:00)Divisional game with two teams that don’t like each other very much. The last time these two teams played, Finnegan and Andre Johnson traded blows. Finnegan has said time and time again that he would like to be known as the dirtiest player in the NFL. Way to set lofty goals. The Texans are on a losing skid that they very much need to get out of. The division can still be theirs but they gotta cut this losing stuff out. The Titans are coming off of a bye and can take control of the division with a win here.
Broncos at Dolphins (1:00)TEBOW! The Reverend is about to conduct church. Tebow starting in Florida on a Sunday. Can it get any more miraculous?
Bears at Buccaneers (1:00)The games in London. The poor Buccaneers lose a home game. Not a whole lot to talk about here but it will be played across the pond.
Chiefs at Raiders (1:00)Another divisional match up. The Raiders are 4-2 and might be starting Palmer. The Chiefs are 2-3 and are stuck with Cassel. The Raiders need to keep their winning ways going to stay on course for the playoffs. Should be a fun game.
Packers at Vikings (4:15)Yet another divisional game. I feel sorry for Ponder. His first start is going to come against the Green Bay Packers. How is he going to keep up with that? It’s not really that great of a game but none of the late games are.

Seems appropriate to post tonight.  Andre Johnson celebrates after Miami wins the National Championship in 2002.

During last week’s Tennessee game the NFL had Andre Johnson wearing a wire for their weekly Sound FX show. So this means you can hear the audio or the Andre Johnson/Cortland Finnegan scuffle (starts at about 3:00 mark).

I was looking forward to seeing it.  After watching, all I can say is… BOOOOOOO!  There is no way these two were this quiet.  They had to have edited out all the fun stuff. I want my reality TV!

FOX’s Mark Berman is reporting that Andre Johnson will only be fined for the Finnegan beat down. He will not be suspended for roughing up the DJ Pauly D look alike.
Just to set it straight. The NFL, who on the surface is totally concerned with head injuries, will not suspend Andre Johnson for ripping an opposing player’s helmet off and punching him in the head. This has nothing to do with how the Texans play a game this coming Thursday night on the NFL network. The fact that Johnson is far and away the biggest star on the Texans, and they will be playing on the NFL’s own network has nothing to do with the lack of suspension. Nothing.

Cortland Finnegan has only been asking for it for 4 years. Andre Johnson (with a 5 inch 40lb advantage) has had enough of the self professed dirtiest player in the NFL. He landed a few hay-makers before being ejected earlier today.

Andre Johnson is so fast that he can actually throw the ball deep and catch it himself. (technically)
